Rotary Cam Switch or Cam switch is an electrical switch that is used to transmit electrical energy from one end to another by turning a handle and shaft at different angles. The switch contacts can also be changed by rotating the handle. Cam switches are used within the low voltage range and have multiple switching cams made of abrasion-resistant conductive material seated on a shaft, which simultaneously switch or switch several pairs of contacts. The cam which closes and opens the contacts has rotary movement to multiple positions, thereby multiple circuit functions can be controlled.
